2012 Less Than 6 Hours Away!

I want to take a second to thank my Brother and My Sister-In-Law for a Lovely Christmas gathering!  I love seeing my brothers, my nieces and nephew and their new pooch Maggie is precious!  Thanks again for letting me bring Bosco and Shelby to your home...... Spangel's will always and forever be in our hearts; may she be at peace in doggy heaven!  The people I get to see on Christmas day may not be blood related to me but they "may as well be," they have known me since I was a teen and are now an extension of me and my family!  I love you all dearly.....

Are you ready for the new Year?  I guess we better be!  Here are MY Resolutions:

*Above all else, to remain faithful to God and his Son Jesus Christ
*To work on my marriage
*To be a GREAT mother to my girls
*To provide care to my two labs
*Learn more about the scriptures and apply them to my curriculum for CCD students
*To remind my mother how much I love and appreciate her
*Pay off one or two loans
*Meet new acquaintances who share my same thoughts
*Take 3 more classes (9 credits) at ESU (maintain my 4.0 gpa)
*Keep focused on my education
*Start a new series of paintings which include: Jesus Christ, nature, and children
*Finish my reading Pelican Brief by J. Grischner (18 of 45 chapters thus far) then see the film
*Let people know how I feel -- Communicate my thoughts
*Take constructive criticism with integrity
*Say I'm sorry even if it's not necessary; you would be surprised how people respond.   Sorry could mean '"I'm sorry that happened to you'"...  not just, "'I'm sorry about what I said, I didn't mean it'" ...
*Help students learn first, maintain my priorities second, and help all others third for the good of the group.... Treat others as I would like to be treated
*Preserve my energy; meditate, exercise and eat healthy....
Model, motivate, guide, observe, document progress, intervention using careful instruction, and assess students who are in need of my help
*Last, but not least, Advocate for those who NEED  a voice and let them know that someone really does care

Lord, you have needed me, yet, I have needed you all along!......

I want to ask Christ to enter my heart each and every day and to renew my spirit within whenever I am pulled down.  The Lord has asked me for my help and I he and want him to know he is my saving grace.  Amen.

Old Testament:
When I applied my mind to know wisdom and to observe man's labor on earth -- his eyes not seeing sleep day or night -- then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun.  Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it.  Ecclestiastes 8: 16-17

"New Years Eve is On Its Way!" It'll be here any day!

Wishing everyone a blessed, healthy, happy, and prosperous new year!  May you sort out to do GREAT things that will replenish your thoughts, ideas, beliefs, and aspirations!  Always remember that God and his son Jesus Christ wants us to flourish as we devote ourselves to his word.  Find your passion! Once you are "just" pay attention to HOW you should be living:

*Get excited about the New Year....  You are important to others and to the world around you!*
*Keep giving (not so much monetarily, yet spiritually) and you shall receive*

*Read no less than one bible verse each week*
*Pray every day for the miracle of life in Jesus Christ our Savior*
*Ask Jesus to come into your heart each and every day*
*Visit  a church, a place of prayer, and when you do, know that Jesus is the only one that matters*
*Free yourself of what others who are negative think; as long as you are GOOD and believe in the law of
Christ Jesus, that is all that really matters*

*Treat others as you would want to be treated*
*Love yourself as in Jesus Christ*
*Know that God loves YOU!*
*Believe in the word our God the father*
*Never give up on your dreams and aspirations*
*Lend a hand to those who are less fortunate than you*
*Care about those who are reaching out to you and are kind to you*
*Take special care of your children, as well as your pets*
*Listen to those who love you the most; be it a parent, sibling, or teacher*
*Practice a form of exercise; walking, cycling, yoga, swimming (it doesn't have to be rigorous or expensive)*
*Most importantly, treat your body with kindness; gradually start a healthy diet*
* Get the right amount of rest to stay alert*

Please, email me at SThourot@gmail.com for advice on where you could join a health club w/o any contractual obligations.  I could also tell you where to go that's free!

Merry Christmas to my friends, The Vanderbrinks

This being the third year we were invited to your annual Christmas Party, we finally made it over to your lovely home!  The company was terrific, I sat beside Marie, a modern day Madame Curie! (How incredible is that?)  Carl and Angela were delightful! I felt as though I'd known them for years.  The conversations were fun, intriguing, and eclectic in that we spoke of our love from topics anywhere from music to politics and anything you could think of in between; the food was scrumptious, and your home was warm, festive, and picturesque!  It was wonderful to be surrounded by people with similar interests and a common love for God's creatures.

Old Testament: And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: Livestock creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind." And it was so.  Genesis 1: 24
Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." Genesis 1: 26

It was truly an enriching experience; as though the people I met were hand picked to my liking.  The girls cannot wait to visit and meet your pets Rambo and Roxy.  I thank the Lord for those who continue to reach out to me and my family.  Thanks for the wonderful holiday celebration!

Your friends, The Thourot's

New Testament:  Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality.  Romans 12: 9-13

"Special People we meet along the way"

I was transferred to another classroom in October.  It was then I met one of the nicest individuals I've come across in a very long time.  He was kind, patient, warm, intelligent, and a very sincere man.  His name was Dennis.  We talked about our beliefs and our values on life in general.  We talked about music, and our children.  We spoke of politics, and, of course, our spouses.  We laughed quite a bit!  At times, when I became serious, I never felt I was threatened by his presence.  I did not feel I was under attack, for I could see this was a humble man who did not harbor malevolence; in fact, I don't believe he could even hurt a fly....  Two weeks came and went and Dennis informed me that this would be his last week.  "It figures," I thought, and yet, in my mind, I let disappointment become a way of life because it's just easier for me to cope.  I was a bit sad but I knew better than to get attached because, after all, people do come and go.  We wished one another farewell and there, out the door, he went.

One week later, on a Saturday, my husband and I went to a concert to meet two of our friends who live a few doors up the road.  It was the first time I'd been to this theater.  It was very big and beautiful; Jon Anderson and his keyboard player Rick Wakeman were fantastic!  Our two friends sat to our left, but when I looked over to my right who do you think I saw?  Could you believe it?  It was Dennis and his son!  The timing couldn't have been better!  In fact, it looked as though the six of us were together!  I ask you, "what are the chances of this happening to anyone?"  We laughed and then introduced everyone because that's just the type of person he is....  Since then, I have run into him twice in the school building just to find out that he has submitted paperwork for employment.  This just goes to show that when Gods made up his mind there's no stopping him.  Ultimately, GOD is in control!  When somethings meant to be, there's no stopping it from happening!

Old Testament: The Queen of Sheeba Visits Solomon:  When the queen of Sheeba heard of Solomon's fame, she came to Jerusalem to test him with hard questions.  Arriving with a very great caravan--with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones--she came to Solomon and talked with him about all she had on her mind. Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for him to explain to her.  When the queen of Sheeba saw the wisdom of Solomon, as well as the kingdom he had built, the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, the cup bearers in their robes and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the Lord, she was overwhelmed.  2 Chronicles 9:8
